Do I really need no internet?
Correct. Everything – AI, maps, library, manuals – runs straight from the SSD. You only need internet for the free extension packs and for updates – which are free for life.
What computer do I need?
A Windows PC or laptop; for the large AI ideally with an NVIDIA graphics card. Without one, the power-saving AI runs. On a Mac the core features run; phones and tablets connect to the laptop via Wi-Fi.
What are the extension packs?
Additional freely available content (e.g. videos, textbooks, official guides) that you download in one click from the official sources on first start. Depending on your connection this takes several hours (up to approx. 190 GB) – after that everything is offline.
Does ARKBYTE replace emergency services or a first-aid course?
No. ARKBYTE helps you act calmly and correctly until help arrives – in an emergency always call 112 first. The AI can make mistakes; check important information in the cited sources.
Is ARKBYTE available for other countries?
ARKBYTE works anywhere. The directory and addresses cover Austria and all neighbouring countries; emergency numbers and civil-protection content are tailored to Austria. More countries will follow.
Is there a subscription or running cost?

How current is the aerial imagery?
The aerial imagery comes from the latest survey flight (basemap.at). It is not a live or situation image – but ideal for orientation in the field.
When does it ship?
The first rollout starts in Austria and its neighbouring countries. Everyone on the waitlist hears the delivery date first. The Personal package is set up individually – delivery approx. 1 week.
